Urban Nature Project Implementation Support Consultant (Cameroon)

Job Requirements

  • Postgraduate diploma in urban planning, urbanism, social sciences, political sciences, economics or related fields.
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in urban planning, project management, and/or climate and nature planning. Comprehensive understanding of climate and environmental issues related to nature, urbanism, cities, and the local context in Douala and Cameroon.
  • Ability to work effectively, precisely and autonomously in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing tasks across teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Cameroon’s environmental and urban frameworks and networks is required. Relevant experience working with the UN system, especially in urban and environmental planning.

Evaluation Specialist for Terminal Evaluation of the UNEP/GEF Project

Job Requirements

  • A first level university degree in environmental sciences, international development or other relevant political or social sciences area is required and an advanced degree in the same areas is desirable.
  • A minimum of five years of technical/monitoring/evaluation experience is required and a broad understanding of sustainable environmental management is required.
  • Degree in or professional experience in statistics is desired.
  • Working knowledge of the UN system and specifically the work of UNEP is an added advantage.

Integrated Urban Energy Expert

Job Requirements

  • Advanced University degree (Masters or equivalent) in: energy systems; engineering; urban planning; environmental studies; or a similar discipline is preferable.
  • A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of ten years in a relevant field of work, preferably with a focus on power system design, urban energy, integrated energy planning, energy master planning, district cooling/heating, smart grid, buildings, and energy policy. Experience working with international organisations would be beneficial.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills on energy, urban and environmental related topics and excellent mastery of Microsoft Office.
  • Practical experience is essential in energy policy and systems analysis in developing countries.

Job Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • (c ) have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, political science, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, political science, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in international organizations, the financial services sector, public or private sectors supporting the intersection between sustainable development and finance is required.
  • One (1) year of experience in project or programme management in an international development setting is desirable.
  • Technical knowledge of climate risk assessment (physical and transition risks) of financial institutions portfolios to evaluate the level of exposure of these entities to climate change is desirable.
  • Experience in client-facing role in financial services of sustainability-related consulting is desirable.
  • Knowledge/experience of the private banking, insurance and/or investment industries in emerging markets, with a focus on LAC/Panama is desirable.

Job Requirements

  • An advanced university degree in environment management, international development, social studies or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A first level degree with an additional two years of qualified experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
